Although Chris was born and raised in the Rogue River Valley, she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She then attended the University of Oregon in Eugene, where she earned a Masters Degree. Even though Chris has worked as an art teacher in both the public school system and at Rogue Community College, as the Director of Wellness for the second largest health insurance carrier in Oregon and as the Director of Marketing for an acute care hospital, she has always produced and sold her art. Twelve years ago Chris decided to work exclusively as an artist and opened her first art studio. Five years later she had to move to a larger studio with a mold making area and a roomier painting area with a beautiful showroom open to the public. Four years ago she rented another 2200 square feet in an industrial area where she operates a fully equipped woodshop. It is in this space that she creates the one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture for her showroom and for custom orders. |
